Get plenty of rest the night before. Eat something substantial before your appt. Do not come in drunk, hung-over, or sick as it’ll be worse for you. If you have naturally dry skin, moisturize the area to be tattooed and drink plenty of water.

• Your artist will apply your first transparent bandage that you will wear for approximately 2 days. During this time, you do not need to apply any topical ointments as the bandage and your own plasma is doing all the work. Showers and workouts are fine as the bandages are waterproof! It is normal for your tattoo to weep during this stage.
• After 2 days, remove the transparent bandage by peeling off one corner. Showers are best as you can use the steam and soap to remove the film. Wash away the plasma and ink that may have collected under the film.
• Dry your tattoo with a clean towel.
• Apply the next transparent bandage by trimming the bandage approx 1” around the size of your tattoo and round the corners.
• Peel the waxy layer from the perforation, apply the bandage while pushing out the folds and bubbles from the center of your tattoo outwards towards the edges.
• Peel away the printed layer and smooth as necessary. Don’t worry about getting rid of all the bubbles/folds.
• Leave the 2nd bandage on for 4-5 days. After removing, you may use a thin coat of unscented, undyed lotion to moisturize.
-
• Remove bandage after 2 hours. You will not have to re-bandage.
• With clean hands, wash gently with mild, non-abrasive soap and warm water. Pat dry with paper towel or air dry (DO NOT SCRUB)
• Apply a very thin coat of Aquaphor 2x daily for the next 3 days. This will protect your tattoo from infections as it is basically an open wound. Your tattoo should be free of dirt, sweat, sun and submerged water (showers are fine)
• On day 4, switch to a fragrance-free/ dye-free body lotion such as Lubriderm, Eucerin, or Cetaphil for 2 weeks ONLY when it feels dry and/or itchy. As with the Aquaphor, apply a very thin coat.
• Normal healing time takes about 2-4 weeks, with no shiny/waxy areas.
• Do not let your tattoo dry out.
• Do not expose to sunlight, swimming pools, hot tubs, tanning beds etc.
• Do not pick on scabs (this is a normal part of healing)
